Bonnie Gao

Bonnie is a second-year master’s student in the ReSET CoLab at the University of Victoria, under the supervision of Dr. Hoicka.  She completed her Bachelor of Environmental Studies at the University of Waterloo, in Environment, Resources and Sustainability with joint honours in Biology. Before returning to school, she spent the last three years working at Natural Resources Canada in federal renewable energy programming. 

Her research examines youth inclusion for an equitable Canadian energy transition from an intersectional lens. She is interested in how energy justice can be enacted in the transition to a low-carbon economy.
