Maya Willard-Stepan

Maya is a second-year MSc student in Geography at the University of Victoria and a Research Assistant with Dr. Hoicka at the ReSET CoLab. She holds a BSc in Atmospheric & Ocean Physics and Environmental Sciences from McGill University and has conducted sustainability-focused research in a variety of disciplines including geophysics, anthropology, natural resources, and earth-system science. Maya studies the emergence of renewable energy clusters from an ecosystem services perspective. Her research interests lie in mapping relationships between energy, environment, and society to understand how the renewable energy transition is impacting ecosystems and communities. ​
